Where Stones Speak: Images and Music from Israel and Palestine

At Resurrection, we are curious about people’s stories and committed to learning from the beautiful diversity God has created.

That curiosity doesn’t stop at the borders of our Ocean Beach neighborhood—it extends outward, even into complex and painful global realities. Where Stones Speak is Resurrection’s inaugural art exhibition, on view throughout the season of Lent. Lent is a time in the Christian tradition for slowing down, telling the truth, and paying attention—especially to what we might otherwise avoid.

This exhibition invites viewers to set aside distraction and certainty, and to remain present with what feels uncomfortable or unresolved.Featuring photography focused on the walls of the West Bank, these images invite us to linger at boundaries rather than rush past them. They ask us to notice what arises when we choose to truly see.

Offered as a Lenten practice, Where Stones Speak is an invitation to live gently with complexity and to trust that transformation often begins not with answers, but with honest attention.

Chris’s photos of his many journeys to the Holy Lands will be on display in the church this evening and throughout Lent, encouraging us to carry our lessons and learnings into the season.
